No I didn't think you could get a tax free Sprint either - hence the question. Looks a proper treat the Neil - hats of to you.
Are you going to do the roof skin swap, I know when I spoke to you you said you were hoping to add that 1300 one for the extra strength?
Oh, also, how difficult did you find it to re- hang the doors?

I am still going to do that, its not really for the strength though as I think the cage will make all the difference required. For competition use, hillclimbs and such you are not aloud to run with a sunroof for some stupid reason so it has to go.

Easy, they are only roughly hung. Was all I needed just to see how its going to look, I imagine it can be a bit of a pain to get them spot on.

Re: My track sprint.
Ah yes thanks.
On my last Dolomite I changed one of the rear doors and in all the years of ownership I never managed to get it to shut correctly despite most weekend fiddling with the door - we are talking nearly 9 years of ownership here!!!
Please keep the updates coming. Any ideas on colour(s) yet? Would look cool in the Works colours red white and blue.

Re: My track sprint.
I am thinking of something based along the lines of the works colours a bit like this.

May yet change my mind though but what ever it ends up being it wont be plain as I dont think it will suit the car.

Re: My track sprint.
A fair bit to update on.
Firstly most of the 6 linking is now properly welded in.
Secondly I have decided what I am doing with the gearbox and started to rebuild it. I have bought a wide ratio semi helical gearset for the sprint box wich will put 2nd closer to first and 3rd in the the gap.
This when used with the overdrive will efectivly give me a seven speed box with full throttle no lift changes between 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th and 6th-7th. The box will also be getting an uprated layshaft and a 3 bearing laygear as instead of the standard 2bearing afair. All these parts along with new synchros, bearing, seals etc have now been bought.
The overdrive unit has been sent off to Shefield to have an uprated clucth, high flow oil pump, up rated pressure relife valve and uprated springs fitted to allow it to cope with the extra power and being used on second gear.
I have decided to replace the outer section of the inner wheel archs as they are quite rusty and needed work to fit the modifed arch.

New panel, only got the one at the minute. The other side is supposed to be being pressed shortly.

Old panel removed, inside was pleasingly clean and free from rust.

Whilst the arch was out I took the opportunity to fit part of the fire wall in between the inner and outer arch.

New panel fitted and modifed to fit my cut out arches.

Ive started to rebuil the bulkhead, having made some steel panels for the right hand side to go round the turret and fit the remains of the existing parcel shelf.I have also fitted a couple of reinforincing pieces to support the ally panel that will cover the main part.
