Hi, Im a new Dolomite owner.
Hi, My names Rich and Ive just acquired a 79 Dolmite 1500hl. It was just minutes from being scrapped, it had been weighed and the guy was just about to fill out the forms. I bought it for £64,its weigh in value. It has Mot till Feb 09, and I just dont understand why you would scrap it.
It drives fine, has some rust on the passenger sill but the guy is even going to weld it this weekend!
Some of you know me from car club, for those that dont Hi!

Thought so, I tried to place this car 3 times (without luck), so glad it has finally found a caring new owner, I remember Les the window cleaner from about 15 years ago taking so much pride in it.
That interior was done by a professional upholstrer and must of cost a small fortune.
Made my day that has!

Yeah, the interior is really nice BUT the brakes are knackered. Just ordered a master cylinder rebuild kit. I have the dual circuit ones which, helpfully, do not exist according to the Haynes manual

Eventually I looked in the back, couldnt see it though. I managed to rebuild it by just taking it apart and amazingly it all went back together when Id swapped all the old for new. I really cant tell you how surprised I am!

Excellent! It looks so much happier now than it did when I saw it parked up among the scrap that the Banger Racers were "exhibiting" at Megawheels this year. My heart went out to it when I read the scruffy bit of card jammed in the windscreen which read something to the effect of "buy me otherwise I will banger it", read more like a threat than an advert.

Thanks, it will definitly not be bangered. It will be driven hard though but cared for.

The car looked very composed on sunday Rich. Once youve had the rust sorted I think you will have got yourself one hell of a bargain there.
